Unhealthy sleep habits and medical conditions are two major causes of insomnia but it's important to know your own problem of staying awake because this will help in getting out possible solutions. Researchers have found that the human brain has a sleep cycle and a wake cycle and in many cases humans over stress the brain to it's point of wake cycle. This will make it difficult for people to sleep at a particular period.

HABITS: Take excess Acohol, caffeine and smoking can also affect our sleeping cycle. According to research, nicotine, which is gotten from tobacco or cigarettes can cause insomnia especially when taken before bed time. Also, heavy meals before bed time is not good as it can cause indigestion while may lead to lack of sleep. If you must take heavy meals, endeavour to do so earlier than 6pm before bed time.
