Your stomach can be very sensitive to the food you eat and this can be attributed to your eating habit. If you develop stomach upset or pains after eating breakfast or after eating any time of the day, you need to assess your eating habit or foods that may cause irritation to the stomach. Irritable bowel syndrome is a major factor that may cause pains in the stomach. Other factors are food intolerance and food allergies.

Food Allergies: 

The body's immune system may react to certain foods even when they are not necessarily harmful to the body this can be referred to as food allergies. This factor is easily noticeable because of the symptoms which includes; Sinus congestion, shortness of breath, wheezing, swelling in the face and chest pain

Irritable bowel syndrome:

This is a condition that affect the intestine which cause abdomimal pains, diarrhoea, constipation and bloating in the stomach. If you have irritable bowel syndrome, eating certain foods may trigger it. Sometimes symptoms are hardly noticeable and treatment is primarily through diet and relaxation.

Food intolerance:

One of the common causes of stomach pain is food intolerance. When your digestive system is unable to digest certain sugar or proteins found in some foods. According to Dr Liji Tomas, food intolerance describes a range of food related symptoms that are not immunological mediated. This is different from food allergies. Other food intolerances include milk intolerance, fructose intolerance, intolerance to other food addictives and lactase intolerance.


Changing your diet might just be the solution needed to treat this condition. Although, It is advisable to see your doctor for stomach pains, reaction and allergies after eating a meal. Your doctor should carry out some tests and give proper diagnosis.
